About Simon Pittman

I'm a Notion Ambassador and a creator. Before any of this, I spent twenty years as a theatre director, and I still work in theatre as a Creative Associate at Frantic Assembly. I never learned to code. I taught myself to build with AI and no-code tools, in public, and now I show other people how to do the same.

For twenty years I directed theatre. Building ensembles, shaping stories, making something out of nothing with a room full of people and not much budget. Then I noticed something that changed how I work.

The way a director thinks — holding the whole shape in your head, structuring a messy creative process, getting the best out of your collaborators — is the exact skill you need to work well with AI. I didn't need to code. I needed taste, clear thinking, and the patience to keep iterating until something was good.

So I started building. Not by reading about it — by opening the tools, trying things, breaking them, and figuring them out. One real problem at a time. That's still how I work, and it's how I teach.

Information is everywhere now. A point of view is rare. I'm not interested in chasing every tool that drops this week — I'd rather go deep on the things that genuinely help you do better work.

I think most people are far closer to building real things than they realise. The barrier isn't skill. It's overwhelm, and the quiet belief that this stuff isn't for them. It is. If a theatre director can build AI agents and business systems without writing a line of code, so can you. You just need someone to show you the path in plain English.
